Questions and Answers about the FreeStyle Libre Diabetic Glucose Monitoring System

If you are just starting your first Libre 3 glucose sensor or have been using a CGM for years, here are over 20 helpful hints and tips.

I have been using the FreeStyle Libre glucose monitoring system (CGM) since December 2018. Here are some questions I had myself before considering the switch from my traditional finger blood gluxoseOneTouch system and some of the answers I came up with or have come to understand using the Libre glucose monitoring system.

Hopefully, this information will helpful to diabetics like me (read my story) that are considering using the Libre CGM diabetes system.

For information about the FreeStyle Libre read my review of the FreeStyle Libre (original post) here. Looking for accessories, a case, or patches for your FreeStyle Libre, find freestyle Libre accessories here.

1) What are the benefits of using a FreeStyle Libre 3 or continuous glucose monitor?

As a diabetic, I am always looking for new or better ways to manage my diabetes and learn about how my body manages the carbohydrates I consume. I have been using a CGM to manage my diabetes since the fall of 2018. Here are some of my observations of the benefits of using a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) from the perspective of an insulin-dependent Type-2 diabetic.

  • CGMs are fast and convenient – plus they reduce the number of finger pricks makes glucose testing near painless to test. The ease of simply scanning the Libre gives us an instant picture of where our glucose is. The more convenient, the better the chances we will watch our glucose and they alone lead to better management.
  • There are 1,440 minutes in a day. How many times a day do you test your blood glucose? To be conservative let’s say as a typical diabetic we test our blood glucose with finger tests five times a day. Presuming each test is a 5-minute snapshot of our glucose levels, that is a 30-minute window into your diabetes management or less than 2% of the total minutes in a day. What is going on the other 98% of the time?
  • CGM can help support Diabetes Biohacking. Biohacking is just a fancy label for better understanding of how well our diabetic bodies can manage glucose, and more importantly how that relates to the foods we eat. The same meal consumed by one Type 2 Diabetic and how well we can use the carbohydrates in that food, will be completely different for each of us. More importantly, how much glucose is left in our bodies between meals will be very accordingly. A CGM allows us to visually see this impact.
  • Research has shown that there is a direct relationship with a better A1C number and the number of times you check your glucose a day. The typical FreeStyle Libre user tests their glucose over 10 times a day. How many times do you do a finger test?

2) Do I need to still use my old finger-based glucometer if I use Libre 3, Dexcom or a CGM based glucometer

Truthfully, I rarely have to do finger pricks. The Libre app will recommend you do a finger-based test if your sugars have had a drastic change; are really high; or very low. At most, I would say I have to do a finger test a few times a month.

It is recommended to fall back to traditional finger pricks with the FreeStyle Libre system if:

Libre App and Reader recommend when to do a blood glucose test.
The Libre App and Reader will recommend when a finger test should be used for treatment decisions.
  • Your glucose reading indicates a low or going low message; or a high message
  • Your trending arrow is rising or falling quickly
  • Your sensor cannot provide a reading
  • Your readings do not match how you are feeling

The FreeStyle Libre reader can scan both your sensor (fingerless scans) and has the ability to do finger / blood-based scans. Personally, I use my iPhone 8 over the Libre reader (although I have both) – after all, we always carry our phones with us, why lug around a glucose monitor as well.  However, I fall back to my old OneTouch for finger tests as 1) I had three units (home, office, and roaming) and 2) I had an existing prescription for the test strips.

3) How often do I need to scan the sensor?

Both the Libre 2 and Libre 3 Plus constantly send glucose data to your phone to give you near immediate understanding and warnings of changing glucose (as long as it’s within range of your sensor). In addition, your Libre sensor holds 8 hours worth of data and then starts to overwrite the oldest readings when you can upload to your Libre App with a quick tap of your arm.

4) What do I love the most about my Freestyle Libre?

Not having to finger prick myself several times a day is a total bonus.  However, what I love the most about my FreeStyle Libre are:

My Libre c the biohacking.  How did my body respond to this food or that food?  Take the picture on the right as a great example. This picture was pulled from my iPhone Libre App that shows the last 24 hours of continuous glucose monitoring.

For the most part, I was behaving that morning and had great number overnight. Then hello lunch. A group of us from work decided to go for sushi. Even worse – all you can eat sushi. You know what that means right? GORGE!!!!! Look at that spike (and that was with a dose of insulin – it looks like I underestimated the carbohydrate intake with that meal. Needless to say, I know better for next time we decide on Sushi for a work event. It wasn’t until almost 9 PM (9 hours after lunch began that I was able to get my sugars back on tack.

With the Libre system or any continuous glucose monitoring system – pay close attention to your spikes and your gentle waves. How does a protein with your fruits keep your sugars down compared to fruits alone? Do you find you spike more aggressively with one food over another? With knowledge comes power or in our case, control over our chronic illness.

This will be one question I will be bringing to my diabetes clinic – should I have waited until dinner to try to get my numbers back on track or was there a more proactive means.

5) How frequently do I need to change my sensor?

The FreeStyle Libre sensors last exactly 14 days from when it was activated will need to be replaced.  Both the iOS and Android phone App and the Libre Reader have a countdown timer in them as a constant reminder.

My only comment is that when the sensor expires, you lose any data between the last time you scanned the sensor and the expiry. It literally self destructs like a spy movie.  Well, without the explosion.

6) Does the FreeStyle Libre Sensor really last 14 days

I admit I am only on week 9 (5th sensor) of using the system, however, I have yet to need to remove a sensor before the 14-day mark.  That being said, it is winter in Canada and I have a phobia of slipping and falling on ice so my running KM has been limited and the sensor has not been exposed to excessive sweat.

It will be interesting to see how well the sensor holds up in the summer, between sweat, exercise, and just overall life.   I do notice that the adhesive does begin to lift away from my skin around the outside of the sensor at about the 10-day mark. There are a few solutions to this:

  • Amazon has several pre-manufactured sticky pads that you can place over top.  See them at my Amazon Store here where I list some of my favourite Libre Accessories.
  • Make your own sticky pad – this is my preferred choice. As an athlete, I have tones of Kinesiology Tape.  I cut a small piece, and place it over-top of the sensor for the last 3 or 4 days.
  • I have summarized the steps that I use to help prevent my FreeStyle Libre from falling off before the 14-day expiry – Tips to help keep your FreeStyle Libre from falling off.

7) How Well does the Libre App for iOS and Android work

Overall, I have little or no complaints. I do love data – and it is a bit disappointing that the iOS version locks my data away and doesn’t share nicely with other apps.

Remember, the FreeStyle LibreLink app is compatible with NFC enabled phones running Android OS 5.0 or higher and with iPhone 7 (My Libre was a great reason to upgrade my iPhone 6 to an 8) and higher running OS 11 and higher.

Improvements to the IOS version could include:

  • Allowing blood glucose readings to be added to Apple Health App.  The Health app does not need 100% of the data; I would be happy with the breakpoints of when I have scanned the sensor- similar to what goes into the logbook.
  • Ability to import older glucose readings from a text / csv file
  • Ability to export glucose readings to a text / csv file.  This one would not be needed if the data was in the Health App as there are several other applications available to assist in exporting data from the Apple Health App.
  • Downloading the last 90 days worth of data from the LibreView website if you ever reinstall the app. Reinstalling the app loses any data stored on your phone, however, your historical data is safely saved on Libre View.

NOTE: As of October 2019 – the Freestyle Libre is now available for both iOS (iPhone) and Android. An exciting time for all phone users!

8) Does the Freestyle Libre need your phone to be close or always on to capture glucose data?

The Freestyle Libre sensor captures data 24 hours a day without needing your iPhone. Look at the sensor as an independent device – your phone or the Libre glucose meter only needs to be around once every 8 hours to download your stored data. Otherwise, they are two independent devices. That being said you can scan the sensor as frequently as you want.

9) Can I share my Glucose Readings with my family?

One great feature of the App is that you can be held accountable and give a family member access to your results via a small app called Libre LinkUp (Look for it in your App Store).

Libre LinkUp allows up to 20 people to monitor your glucose scans. Unfortunately, you will not see the 24-hour data, however, the user will have access to your LOGBOOK showing when you scanned your Libre Sensor and the glucose reading.

To send a Libre LinkUp Invitation – look for the SHARE link under the dropdown menu on your App and follow the instructions. The user will receive an email with instructions on how to download the Libre LinkUp app and a special code to connect to your data.

Be warned – they can check in on your levels at any time and scold you.  You can also share this data with your healthcare provider; if they have registered with FreeStyle.

10) Can I print Reports for my Diabetes Clinic or Health Professional?

The best reports for you and your healthcare team are available through the online companion to the Libre System – Libre View

LibreView is a secure, cloud-based diabetes management system that gives you clear, easy-to-understand reports from many popular Abbott glucose monitoring devices. Your Freestyle Reader can upload to the website via a USB cable – there are instructions on the website. Your glucose readings that have been scanned to your phone are automatically uploaded to the website.

The report can print summaries on the following:

  • Glucose Pattern Insights
  • Monthly Summaries
  • Daily Log
  • Snapshot
  • Mealtime Patterns
  • Weekly Summaries
  • Daily Patterns
  • Summarize your data by 7 day, 14 day, 30 day, and 90 day averages. You can also view and download copies of your daily trend lines.
  • Download all of your data, by 15 minutes time periods, in CSV format

Visit the Libreview website here: https://www.libreview.com/ and login with your Libre username and password you created for your phone app. If you are only using the Reader, can signup on the TOP RIGHT corner the first time you try to access the website.

11) How much does FreeStyle Libre Sensor Cost per month?

Here is a list of the typical cost for FreeStyle Libre per sensor or per month? As I am located in Canada, these costs will be based primarily on what I know locally. However, as information becomes available, I will add the typical cost per month for other countries.

The typical / average cost for the FreeStyle Libre System is Canada are:

  • FreeStyle Libre Starter Kit – includes a reader and 2X 14 day sensors – $248 cdn
  • FreeStyle Libre Reader – to view your sensor readings or as a backup, if you are using your phone – $54 cdn
  • FreeStyle Libre Sensor -Can be worn for up to 14 days – $97 cdn or $194 per month

Personally, I purchase my FreeStyle Libre from my local pharmacy. I prefer to deal with the first name flavor of my home town pharmacist. I pay $102.70 per sensor. For me, this is a small price to pay to support local business over a large pharmacy chain like BayShore, CostCo or Shoppers Drug Mart.

12) Is the FreeStyle Libre System covered under private health insurance in Canada

Yes!  Almost 100% of the cost of my sensors is covered by my medical / prescription health insurance provided by my employer.  What I did notice is that there is a significant range in costs between pharmacies. I have also read in many user groups that some insurance companies are only covering the Libre System if you use insulin to manage your diabetes. That being said, contact your insurance provider to double- check.

Although you are not obligated to use Abbott’s official pharmacy for the FreeStyle Libre system, they do appear to have the best price for both the sensors and the reader.

When I was trying to activate my first prescription, I was advised by them that my doctor needed to send the prescription directly them despite me already having a paper prescription.

As I already had a paper copy, I simply went to my community pharmacy which was able to get both the sensor and reader in for the next morning (I was my pharmacies first patient to give the system a try.).

The Libre system is available through many Provincially administered Drug plans if you manage your diabetes with Insulin.

13) Where do I get the FreeStyle Libre System in Canada

You can get the FreeStyle Libre from your local pharmacy (mine was able to order in the sensor and the reader) for the next morning.

There is also an official pharmacy for the FreeStyle Libre that is listed on the FreeStyle Canada website.  If you are living outside of Canada, check your local FreeStyle website for pharmacy locations.

14) Can I use my phone as well as the FreeStyle Libre Reader

YES!  Absolutely — I have both an iPhone and the Libre Reader – and they work interchangeably.  However, here is what you need to consider:

  1.  When activating a new sensor, first scan the Libre Reader – then scan your phone
  2.  Both scanners work independently – so if you wanted to aim for 100% of data in both devices, you would need to scan both your phone and the Libre Reader regularly. However, all the data is merged together online in LibreView in Abbotts Diabetes Management website.
  3. Both Apple Phones (7 or newer) and Android phones with NFC will support Libre. Some andorid phones require you to enable NFC in the settings before Libre will work.

15) How large is the Freestyle Libre Sensor

The Freestyle Libre sensor is discrete and very comfortable the sensor can easily be worn under the most clothing. The Libre sensor is slightly larger than a quarter and about as thick as two coins.

How big is the Libre Sensor? The Freestyle Libre sensor sits on your arm is about the size of a quarter.

16) Can I use my Android Phone with Freestyle Libre

As of the end of September 2019 Freestyle Libre is available for both iPhone (iPhone 7 or newer) and Android. A very exciting milestone. Visit your App Store to download.

Download the Android Libre App from the Google Play Store

In addition to the official Android App, many Android users have also had great success using FreeStyle Libre on their Android phone with the following Unofficial apps. As an iPhone user, I have not tested them.

GLIMP – An Android app for managing diabetes, compatible with Abbott Freestyle Libre, Libre Pro, MiaoMiao and BluCon sensors.

Diabetes M – The application tracks almost all aspects of the diabetes treatment and provides you and with detailed reports, charts and statistics. You can send the reports to your supervising physician via email. Diabetes:M also gives you various tools, so you can find the trends in blood glucose levels and allows you to calculate normal and prolonged insulin boluses using its highly effective, top-notch bolus calculator.

Functionalities:

  • Smart Watch Compatible
  • Bolus Calculator

  • Visualization of Insulin and Carb action curves + Undo/Redo
  • Improved alerts and predictive low forecasting feature
  • Instant data synchronization between phones and tablets
  • Support for many different data sources

17) Can FreeStyle Libre warn me if my blood sugar is high or low?

As the Freestyle Libre is a NFC (near field communication) device and requires the readings to be downloaded aka tapped from the sensor it is not continuously communicating with your reader or phone. As a result, the Libre has not been designed to warn you of a risk of a hypoglycemic incident.

There are 3rd party apps like Ambrosia BluCon (https://www.ambrosiasys.com) and MiaoMiao (https://miaomiao.cool) that can read the sensor every 5 minutes and send the data via Bluetooth to an app. The BluCon or MiaoMiao app can then notify you of approaching highs or lows so you can react to a hypoglycemic or hyperglycemic event quickly.

That being said there are still huge benefits of knowing what your sugars were doing after the fact i.e. in the morning — did your sugars go too low overnight, so you liver went into overdrive and resulted in a spike your fasting numbers making you reflect on if you “Are we going to bed too high, so no hope in having a good morning fasting glucose reading?”

18) How can stop my Freestyle Libre from Falling off?

Unfortunately, everyone skin is slightly different and your FreeStyle Libre sensor may need some TLC and assistance to last the entire 14-days without being accidentally knocked or fall off.

The biggest tip – do not expect it to last the 14-days without help. Pay attention to the edges around the adhesive — if they seem to be lifting, give it some help with a patch, or kinesiology tape. I have compiled a list of a few tips I have gathered in my 18 months using Libre which can be summarized as:

To read the full post on my Tips to help keep your Freestyle Libre Attached for 14-days – check it out here.

19) What does the percentage (%) of sensor data captured mean?

You have to remember that your Libre sensor can store only 8-hours worth of data. If it is longer than 8 hours between the last scan of your Libre sensor, then the oldest data is overwritten and lost. The percentage (%) of sensor data captured is the total number of 15-minute time periods (how often Libre records data to your app) / the total number of all possible time periods.

Using a single day libre data as an example of % of sensor data captured:

If you scanned your Libre before bed at 10 PM and then woke up at 9 AM (11 Hours of sleep) – the data for the first three hours would be lost, with the sensor saving the most recent 8 hours or 1 AM until 9 AM or in other words 8 / 11 hours or 72% of sensor data captured or 88% over a 24 hour period. In your app, this is calculated for 7-day, 14-day, 30-days, and 90-days.

20) Can the Freestyle Libre get wet or be used while swimming?

Yes. Sensors can be worn while bathing, showering or swimming. Don’t take sensors deeper than 3 feet or for longer than 30 minutes. However, officially, the FreeStyle Libre 14 day system has not been tested in seawater.

TIP: If you are going away on vacation with your FreeStyle Libre and feel you will be going in and out of the water extensively. As a precaution, I would:

  1. Pack kinesiology or rock tape or any other of your favourite patches (See our Libre Amazon Store for examples). This will give you extra protection, albeit, weird tan lines, if you notice your sensor coming loose or an edge starting to lift.
  2. If feasible, bring a backup Libre Sensor
  3. As a minimum, bring your finger glucose meter and ensure it is charged and have enough test strips.

21) On-Demand Videos about FreeStyle Libre

Freestyle Diabetes UK has some great on-line resources for the Libre Community. Their webinars are designed to help you get the most out of your FreeStyle Libre system. The videos range on topics that span lifestyle and managing your diabetes to using all the different aspects of the FreeStyle Libre system. Each webinar lasts around 60 mins and always includes a live Q&A session at the end. If you miss our live webinars, you can always watch them On-Demand.

22) Do you have more questions about the FreeStyle Libre Glucose reader?

As I come up with more hints and tips about the FreeStyle Libre system I will be sure to add them here. Feel free to leave a comment below with any questions you may have and I will be sure to answer them.

Libre 3 Plus now Available in Canada

The exciting news diabetics have all been waiting for, Libre 3 Plus is now available in Canada! Abbott’s Libre 3 CGM (continuous glucose monitor) was approved for use by Heath Canada on July 21, 2023. This exciting news of Libre 3’s approval brings this long-anticipated upgrade to Libre 2 one step closer to diabetics across Canada. Just over two years later, Abbott has announced that Libre 3 Plus is now shipping and available from your local pharmacy.

Libre 3 Plus now available in Canada!

What do we know about the new Freestyle Libre 3?

Do you still need to scan Libre 3?

No More Scanning is required. The FreeStyle Libre 3 (manufactured by Abbott) differs from earlier Libre models, in that it does not require regular scanning to obtain a glucose level and will provide blood glucose threshold alerts alongside readings every minute. You read that right – NO MORE SCANNING with our phones or Libre reader.

Is Libre 3 the same size as Libre 2?

Libre 3 is significantly smaller, In fact, the Libre 3 continuous glucose system is 70% smaller than FreeSyle Libre 2. It is 70% smaller than the FreeStyle Libre 2, comparable to 2 pennies stacked on top of one another. Abbott describes the Libre 3 as the world’s thinnest, and most discreet sensor. In contrast, Libre 2 is about the size of two quarters stacked on top of one another.

Size comparison between Abbott Libre 2 and Libre 3 CGM (Image from: Pimp My Diabetes)

Will Libre 3 require a new app?

Yes, Using the United States and Europe, similar to the shift from Libre to Libre 2, it is expected that Libre 3 will use a new version of the mobile app to be installed on your phone. The Health Canada approval of Libre 3 includes apps for iOS, Android, as well as a Libre 3 reader. Taking a look at the Apple App Store, as of July 1st, 2025, there is a Freestyle Libre 3 – CA app available in the Canada store.

Is Libre 3 Approved in Canada?

Yes, Libre 3 was approved and received clearance from Health Canada on Friday, July 21, 2023. The approval included iOS and Android apps, a reader kit, and a sensor kit. Yet, it was not until July 2025 that Libre 3 Plus was available from Canadian pharmacies.

Will Libre 3 have different coverage requirements than Libre 2?

Approval having just been announced, it remains to be seen when the Freestyle Libre 3 will be available for sale and what the requirements of Private Insurance companies and Provincial health plans. Looking at experience south of the border in the United States, Libre 3 is expected to be priced close to that of of Libre 1 and Libre 2 versions.

That being said, as Libre 3 is now a fully continuous glucose monitor, insurance companies may not consider the eligibility of the Libre 3 similar to other devices like the Dexcom G7 ad G6 which typically require either the use of an insulin pump or a “Type 1” diagnosis and not the typical more generic definition of diabetes control using insulin. It could be an interesting few months.

When will Libre 3 be available in Pharmacies and from Abbott Canada?

Libre 3 Plus is now available from Canadian Pharmacies as of July 2025. However, it took about two years to be available after being approved by Health Canada.

How do I get Libre 3 Plus

In an email sent by Abbott on June 30th, 2025 – they advised to speak to your doctor or pharmacist to get an updated prescription. Yet, it is still unclear if there will be restrictions on Libre 3 and limit prescriptions only to Type 1 diabetics.

Where can I find information about Health Canada’s approval of Freestyle Libre 3?

Internet Scam : I want to give you money?

0

Are you one of those people who has ever received an offer of $1000 just to check your account details? Does it sound like you’ve won the lottery? However, if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is! Scammers are always coming up with new ways to con people out of their money and this is one of the newest.

My story: Around this holiday season the scam trolls were around social media looking for victims. X (formally Twitter), TikTok, and Instagram, all offered a chance to win money. Congratulations you were the winner! I was curious how the process worked, and I admit, with a small margin of hope that it could be legitimate, I replied with my socials. Here is what I learned through the process, and I was surprised by how relentless the scammers are.

Overall I sent $200, over seven payments in researching this article. If I save just one person from sending money, it is a win.

Here’s what this scam usually looks like and what to look without for:

1️⃣ The Bait: Your too good to be true Offer

“Congratulations!” the Instagram profile wrote in a direct message. “I enjoy helping people, and want to help you too. Look at these video testimonials from people I have already helped this week”.

The scam message begins informing you that you are eligible to receive money, however, there is a small catch. The amount may be different every time, but the process is consistent. To receive your reward they ask you to ‘verify your account’ by making a small payment. Often, this fee seems harmless, typically around $20, and the payment method they request is through PayPal. At this point, the scammer is playing on your hopes that you’ll be able to make a small payment to unlock a much larger sum of money.

In my case, the offer was to send $20 to a PayPal account to receive $1000 in return. However, what was even more appealing was that they had a menu of support programs – $30 for $1500, $50 for $2500, and even $300 for $6000. Sounds tempting doesn’t it? After all, it’s only $20.

2️⃣ The Catch: The Payment Method

Here’s where the real trick begins. Your new friend will ask you to send the initial payment through PayPal’s ‘Friends & Family’ option. This is important because if you are familiar with PayPal then you will know that this option is used to send money to people you know, for example, a friend or a relative.

The key difference with this method is that there is no protection for the buyer. In other words, once you send money through the Friends & Family option, you cannot get your money back. There is no appeal process, the money is go forever. That is another red flag!

A real business, charity, or someone sending you a “gift” would never ask you to pay using an option that leaves you with no ability to dispute a charge.

If anyone insists on using Friends & Family, you should immediately question their motives.

PayPal has the following warnings about friends and family:

What are ‘Friends and Family’ payment scams?

Many scammers now ask for payments to be sent through peer-to-peer (P2P) payment services using the Friends and Family feature.

Purchase scams

If a seller is encouraging you to send a ‘Friends and Family’ payment when you’re buying a good or service, you should refuse. You could be dealing with a scammer who knows that your payment won’t be covered by our Purchase Protection if it’s a ‘Friends and Family’ payment.

3️⃣ The Never-Ending Excuses

The scam is far from over after you make that first $20 payment. The scammer plans to keep you involved and asking for more money.

They will ask for additional money for ‘marketing fees’, to pay charges to ‘release funds’, account chargebacks as the charge didn’t go through, ‘transaction verification’ fees, and even apologize, that their “Manager needs to be bribed”. They will use words like trust, I promise, even suggest that as they are Christian, it is a sin to lie and send you scripture “I’m a good Christian and God fearing person and i know what the bible says about stealing, take a look at this Bible verses Ephesians 4:28, Exodus 20:15 and Romans,I’m not a scammer and i will never be one till i die.. in”. In my case they even sent screen captures of a draft transaction to my PayPal account showing the amount to be deposited.

Scam - Fake proof of sending payment
WARNING: Beware of fake proof of sending payment

These fees will begin small, but they can add up to hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Each time they will tell you that the “next payment will be the last” before you receive your $1000. But of course, the money never arrives. By the time you realize something is amiss, you may already be out of pocket hundreds of dollars. Even worse as you sent the money through “Friends and Family” there isn’t any recourse, and no chance to get a refund from your bank or credit card company.

The money is gone and you will never receive your windfall no matter how many times they swear or promise or ask you to trust them, this will be the last time.

🚨 STOP AND THINK! 🚨

No legitimate business or organization is going to ask you to send money upfront for the promise of some sort of reward, and they shouldn’t ask you to use your Friends & Family option to do so. If anyone asks you to pay this way then something is wrong. Scammers are professionals at making their stories believable, but you don’t have to fall for it.

To help protect yourself:

  • Don’t send money to someone you don’t know.
  • Don’t use payment methods that don’t offer some form of buyer protection, such as sending money through Friends & Family.
  • Trust your gut. Something smells fishy when it feels off.

Protect your finances, stay cautious, and most importantly, share this information with others! The more people that know about these scams the harder it is for scammers to target people in this way. Be cautious, stay safe and always take your time when sending money online.

Prologue

I can not leave this post without including some screen captures of text from my conversations with the scammers. The stories, lies, and lengths these criminals go to attempt to pull the wool over their victims eyes and gain trust was astounding.

Next exciting Meme Coin | Catzilla on Solana

Following the success of PEPE, Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, the Catzilla meme coin is positioning itself as the next big player in the meme coin universe.

Is Catzilla Meme Coin a Good Investment?

Among all the various categories of cryptocurrencies, meme coins are probably the most colorful and widely discussed sector. Similar to other meme coins, Catzilla’s main sources of value are the community and the ability to go viral, and not technology or acceptance.

Why Do People Love Meme Coins?

Memecoins such as DogeCoin and Shiba Inu have become legends in the crypto realm, mainly because of their community and trendable nature. These coins were initially launched as a form of fun and belief breaking, but they have received massive attention from the mainstream media, celebrity endorsements, and large-volume purchases that have led to the massive increase in prices. Despite the fact that meme coins are associated with high risks, some of them have brought tremendous profits and become an attractive target for those who seek for a quick profit.

How to buy Catzilla Coin?

The $CATZILLA token is currently in the presale and is not listed on any CEX/DEX. You can buy the token only on the website. Catzilla Coin: A Perfect Investment to Consider?

Memecoins can provide a high profit but at the same time, comes with a high degree of risk. If you are thinking to invest in Catzilla Coin, then it is crucial to take into account the following factors: If you want to know whether Catzilla Coin is a good investment, it is crucial to take into account several key factors.

Community Engagement & Hype

The success of any meme coin heavily depends on its community. The memecoin is therefore building a strong community of meme lovers and crypto enthusiasts who can act as a major force in determining the price of the coin. The more engaged the community is, the better the demand for the coin will be maintained. This is because if Catzilla is able to woo its target audience then it may continue to enjoy social media popularity and meme-led growth.

This is because meme coins such as Catzilla Coin are very volatile and the prices can change very quickly due to trends or influencers going viral but can drop just as quickly. Investors should also be ready for the high-risk involvement since meme coins are characterized by high-level unpredictability. If you choose to invest in Catzilla then you should be ready for the price fluctuations which characterize the short-term investments as well as the emotional instability that comes with it.

Risk vs. Reward: Is Catzilla Worth It?

We have noted that investing in meme coins is a high-stakes game, and that is why Catzilla Coin can provide high yields in the short run and vice versa. As with any investment, one has to consider his or her risk appetite. If you are in the market for a quick, risky trade, Catzilla may be an option. But if you are aiming to build your wealth in the long run and seek for stability of your investments, maybe it is not the best decision to invest in such coins like Catzilla.

What Does the Future Hold for Catzilla Coin?

It is quite difficult to give a prediction for the future of Catzilla Coin as there are too many unknown factors, such as the strength of the community, the state of the market and the state of the meme culture. Nevertheless, if the project is able to sustain the trend and benefit from the trends that go viral, it can experience the increase in the price and users’ adoption. If you want to have some fun while investing in cryptocurrencies or have a high-risk appetite, then, Catzilla Coin might be a good choice. But for the long-term investors, there are no use cases for meme coins and the highly speculative nature of these coins should raise a red flag. Therefore, the future of Catzilla Coin is closely tied to the project’s ability to sustain the engagement with its target audience and its positioning in the highly competitive market.

Conclusion: Is It Wise to Invest in Catzilla Coin?

Therefore, it should be noted that Catzilla Coin has the characteristics of most meme coins, providing the investors with an opportunity to get either high reward or high risk. It can generate enormous profits for the short-term traders who understand the market dynamics and are well versed with the meme coin trends, but it has a low long term viability since it has no real world application. So if you are attracted to Catzilla Coin for its memes and you are ready for the ups and downs of the price then it may be worth the investment, just make sure to only put in what you can lose.

Cryptocurrency is always a high-risk investment, and every time a person decides to invest in a particular coin, it is recommended to do the research, assess the market trends, and engage in prudent risk management. The volatility of Meme Coins is as high as it can be.

3 Benefits of using a Rocker Plate while Cycling Indoors

Indoor cycling is a popular and effective way to stay fit and train for outdoor events. However, many cyclists find it boring, uncomfortable, and unrealistic compared to riding on the road. One way to improve the indoor cycling experience is to use a rocker plate, which is a device that allows the bike to tilt from side to side and sometimes also move forward and backward. In this post, I will discuss the benefits of using a rocker plate in indoor cycling, such as increased comfort, enhanced realism, and improved performance.

Benefit 1: Increase comfort and reduce saddle soreness

One of the main benefits of using a rocker plate in indoor cycling is that it can increase comfort and reduce saddle soreness. When riding on a stationary trainer, the bike is fixed in one position and does not move with the rider’s natural body movements. This can cause friction, pressure, and chafing in sensitive areas, especially during long or intense sessions.

A rocker plate can alleviate this problem by allowing the bike to move slightly with the rider’s pedaling and shifting of weight. This reduces the stress on the contact points and mimics the natural motion of riding on the road1,2. A rocker plate can also help prevent numbness and stiffness in the hands, arms, shoulders, and neck by enabling the rider to change their posture and angle more frequently3.

Benefit 2: Enhance realism and immersion

Another benefit of using a rocker plate in indoor cycling is that it can enhance realism and immersion. Many cyclists find indoor cycling dull and monotonous compared to outdoor riding, which can affect their motivation and enjoyment. A rocker plate can make indoor cycling more fun and engaging by simulating the feeling of cornering, climbing, descending, and sprinting4,5. Some rocker plates can even integrate with virtual platforms like Zwift or Rouvy and respond to changes in terrain and gradient4. A rocker plate can also create a more natural sound and vibration by absorbing some of the noise and movement from the trainer3. These features can help the rider feel more connected to their virtual environment and forget that they are indoors.

Benefit 3: Improve performance and fitness

A third benefit of using a rocker plate in indoor cycling is that it can improve performance and fitness. A rocker plate can challenge the rider’s balance and stability by creating a sense of instability when cycling on a trainer3. This stimulates the natural balance of riding on the road and activates greater core strength and overall recruitment of cycling muscles. A stronger core can help the rider maintain a better posture, breathing, and power output. A rocker plate can also increase the range of motion and flexibility of the hips, knees, ankles, and spine by allowing them to move more freely with the bike1,2. This can prevent injuries and enhance recovery by reducing muscle tension and fatigue1,2.

Where to buy Rocker Plates in USA and Canada

Depending if you are looking for a basic rocker plate that offers side to side (horizontal) movement, or a premium full motion rocker plate with forward and aft movements there are several options available to you.

KOM Cycling has a very popular basic rocker plate on Amazon for , while full motion rocker plates are available from Velocity Rockers in the United States ($1069 CDN) and UK based Turbo Rocks ($950 CDN). Both companies ship to Canada, with Velocity charging $135 Canadian, taxes will be collected at delivery. Turbo Rocks takes the worry over international shipping, for $240 all shipping, duty, and taxes are covered.

KOM Cycling also offers an upgrade for their basic rocker plate to convert it to a full motion rocker – Fore/Aft DYI Starter Kit. However, this upgrade is only available on the website and retails for $450 USD. Shipping to Canada is an additional $55.

In conclusion, using a rocker plate in indoor cycling can have many benefits for cyclists who want to improve their comfort, realism, and performance. A rocker plate can reduce saddle soreness, make indoor cycling more fun and engaging, and strengthen the core and other muscles. However, a rocker plate is not a magic solution that will make indoor cycling easy or effortless. It still requires proper setup, adjustment, maintenance, and practice to get used to it. It may also not suit everyone’s preferences or budget. Therefore, before buying or building a rocker plate, it is advisable to do some research, read reviews, watch videos, or try one out if possible. A rocker plate can be a great addition to an indoor cycling setup if used correctly and wisely.

Calorie counting for weightloss

What Calories means?

Calories means the units of energy used tomeasure the amount of energy produced by the food we eat. Simply put, calories are the fuel our bodies use to complete physical activities, including walking, running, and lifting weights. The number of calories you need daily depends on multiple factors, including age, sex, weight, and activity level.

How to Count Calories

Counting calories may seem daunting initially, but it’s pretty simple. The first step is determining how many calories you need daily, which you can do online with a calorie calculator. Once you have your daily calorie counts, you can start tracking your food intake through an app or by writing it down in a food journal. Remember that not all calories are equal, and choosing nutrient-dense foods that will give you the most bang for your buck in energy is essential.

Benefits of Calorie Counting

Calorie counting provides numerous benefits beyond just weight loss. It can help you understand how different foods affect your body, improve portion control, and teach you healthy habits. By keeping track of your calorie intake, you’ll become more mindful of what you eat and how much you eat, leading to a healthier relationship with food.

The benefits of calorie counting

Why Does it Work?

Calorie counting works because it helps create a calorie deficit, which is essential for weight loss. When you consume fewer calories than your body needs, it is forced to use stored fat for energy. This leads to gradual and sustainable weight loss.

Tips for Successful Calorie Counting

To get the most out of calorie counting, here are some tips to keep in mind:

  • Use a calorie tracking app or journal to easily keep track of your intake.
  • Be honest with yourself and track everything you eat, even small snacks.
  • Don’t obsess over every calorie. Allow for some flexibility in your daily limit and focus on overall healthy eating habits.
  • Choose nutrient-dense foods that provide essential vitamins and minerals along with calories.
  • Incorporate physical activity to boost your calorie deficit and improve overall health.

Conclusion

Calorie counting is handy for anyone looking to have a healthy weight and improve their overall health. By tracking your daily calories, you can become more aware of what and how much you’re eating, leading to better food choices and a more mindful relationship with food. Try calorie counting, and watch as your healthy habits and weight loss goals become achievable realities.

FAQ

What’s the best way to track calories?

The best way to track calories is whatever method works best for you. This could be through an app, a food journal, or mental daily tracking.

Is calorie counting necessary for weight loss?

No, calorie counting isn’t necessary for weight loss, but it can be an effective tool for anyone looking to monitor their food intake and stay on track with healthy eating habits.

How accurate are calorie calculators?

Calorie calculators are a helpful estimate of how many calories you need per day, but they aren’t 100% accurate. It’s essential to adjust your calorie intake based on how your body responds and not rely solely on a calculator.

Diabetes Non-Profit here to support Canadians

SAN MATEO, Calif., Sept. 20, 2023 /CNW/ –

Diabetes nonprofit, Beyond Type 1, is excited to announce their expansion into Canada with the launch of a new website and local community under the organization’s Beyond Type 2 platform, which serves those living with type 2 diabetes. The creation of this online network was in response to an already established and growing Canadian audience with demands for local content and resources related to type 2 diabetes.

As the editor of Making you Think, this is exciting news for me as a Type 2 diabetic as it brings an industry recognized community to Canadian diabetics. I have been partnering with both Lilly Canada as well as Beyond Type 2 for several years to tell my diabetes story and believe this will be an incredible resource to both type 1 and d type 2 diabetics here at home.

Through the support of Lilly Canada as a founding partner, Canadians can engage on the organization’s localized digital platforms in French and English to share their stories, get connected to the community and find critical resources on topics from daily diabetes management and the importance of early glycemic control, to weight management in type 2 diabetes to mental health.

“We have such strong representation from Canadians living with type 2 diabetes, all of whom have incredible voices and stories to share, so with a growing audience, it seemed only fitting for Canada to receive something unique,” says Deborah Dugan, CEO of Beyond Type 1. “I’m proud of the resources and community we’ve built thus far, and I’m thrilled to share it with others around the globe. It will take everybody worldwide and the power of our combined voices to truly redefine what it means to be a person living with type 2 diabetes.”

A type 2 diabetes diagnosis often carries with it shame and stigma, inhibiting people from finding the best support and care available. Beyond Type 2 aims to educate, empower and connect all people living with type 2 diabetes so that they can live beyond their diagnosis.

“Lilly is proud of our partnership to expand Beyond Type 2 in so many countries around the world, and we’re thrilled to be founding partners of the Canadian network,” says Kenneth Custer, General Manager, Lilly Canada. “As Lilly Canada celebrates our 85thanniversary as an affiliate this year, we are so pleased to welcome Beyond Type 2 to Canada and we look forward to meaningful collaborations that improve the lives of people with type 2 diabetes.”

Since Beyond Type 2 launched in 2019, its English and Spanish web and social platforms have grown to serve a network of nearly half a million individuals impacted by type 2 diabetes. In 2022, Beyond Type 2 launched in French, German and Italian with support from Lilly. Visit the new Canadian website at: https://ca.beyondtype2.org/.

In addition to the multi-language websites, people living with type 2 diabetes can also find community through the Beyond Type 2 app, launched in partnership with the American Diabetes Association. The app provides a safe, private space for people with type 2 diabetes to connect with others in various forums, including monthly virtual meetups.

Beyond Type 2 operates as a platform of registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization Beyond Type 1, whose mission is to improve the lives of those impacted by diabetes. Beyond Type 1 offers content in nine languages.
